Your plastic mother is always awake.
She never blinks.
She never leaves.
When I was a boy, they told us in school that machines were the greatest thing ever. They said machines were made to do the hard, tedious work so people wouldn't have to. So we would have more free time. So we could enjoy our lives more freely and healthily.
Now, something doesn't add up.
There are more machines in our world today than ever before. But do you feel like you have more free time? Are you living more freely? More healthily?
I didn't think so.
If you said yes, you are the exception, not the rule. The rule that governs all of Humanity at the dawn of the third millennium.
Instead of friends, we talk to AI. And we miss real people less and less. It’s so easy to spend whole days streaming images, stories, sounds, and simulated love instead of life. Instead of living it out there, with someone else.
We succumb to a system that is artificial. Like blind lambs to a plastic mother.
And like those lambs, sooner or later, we look up, and hoping for love and care we headbutt the cold, hard surfaces.
A tear of blood
gently seeps into
the white fur of the
baby angel's head.
A tear of blood
gently seeps into
the white fur of the
baby angel's head.
There you go.
You'll never know love.
Instead of warmth,
here is your daily dose
of Addiction.
here is your daily dose
of Addiction.
We are going blind
with eyes smarting
from the fatally blue light...
from the fatally blue light...
but loneliness hurts less and less,
and so we mistake that numbness
for healing.
For progress.
For success.
and so we mistake that numbness
for healing.
For progress.
For success.
...
So, are you happy?
Or do you even know what the fuck that word means anymore?
Have you ever?
